Towards Feminist Peace

On International Women’s Day, I want to express my solidarity with both Palestinian and Israeli women and girls. As a Jewish feminist, I am committed to listening to Muslim and Arab women and taking proactive steps to decenter whiteness and the colonial gaze in my work. During these difficult times, I'm working on cultivating a spirit of peace, compassion, and justice in myself so that I may manifest it in the world.

All day I have been thinking about…

🇵🇸Palestinian women and girls facing starvation and dehydration, suffering from war-related injuries and harrowing violence and daily struggles.

🇮🇱Israeli women and girls held in captivity, most likely in complete darkness and experiencing hunger, violence, and deteriorating conditions.

All women and girls in the region deserve to live in safety and peace, and to be treated with dignity and justice. I hope those who care about justice, equality, and safety for women will continue having difficult conversations about questions of gender justice & universal human rights, feminist allyship, the coloniality of gender, and what co-resistance looks like in practice.

Please join me in standing for a permanent bilateral ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and an immediate large-scale humanitarian response.
