Standing Together for a Sustainable Peace

As we approach the end of the first phase of the ceasefire deal, what is our responsibility as global citizens?

As a person of Jewish descent with family in Israel, I feel a keen responsibility to:

1. Actively support desperately needed humanitarian access to Gaza as well as efforts to address the root causes of the violence. Without addressing root causes, peace cannot be sustainable.

2. Pursue truth-telling, accountability and justice for Israel’s ethnic cleansing and war crimes as well as war crimes committed by Palestinian armed groups.

3. Educate about the conflation of Jewish identity with the State of Israel, and how this endangers Jewish communities around the world.

4. Oppose the forced transfer of 2 million Palestinians from Gaza and those who propose turning over Gaza to US ownership.

5. Advocate for a two-state solution that recognizes the Palestinian people’s right of self-determination, equality, and freedom.

6. Support peacebuilding efforts to help address the trauma and pain experienced by Palestinians and Israelis, transforming the consequences of oppression and generational trauma on people’s bodies, minds, and spirits.

🕊 My work focuses on bridge-building, cultural humility, and shared humanity. Antisemitism and navigating courageous conversations are two of my signature speaking topics. If I can help your team, organization or university, please reach out!
